Vanessa Valderrama Arias

Vanessa is the Co-founder and President of Mi Gente Foundation in the US.

She is from Armenia, Colombia but has been living in the US since 2012. Residing in Atlanta, GA she collaborates with local organizations, entrepreneurs, and volunteers to effect positive change, raise awareness, and foster opportunities through dynamic collaborations. Her leadership is characterized by a foundation of kindness, empathy, and an open-minded approach, inspiring those around her to join in the collective effort towards meaningful impact and community growth. 

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, family and her dog, Kobe, she also loves traveling, trying new restaurants and supporting local and emerging businesses. She is an advocate for mental health and helping others find a sense of belonging. She thrives in diverse environments and loves to have deep conversations and share moments with people from different backgrounds and walks of life. She truly believes that E V E R Y O N E has something unique and special to offer. 

Angie M. Tabares Leon

Angie is the Co-founder and Marketing Director of Mi Gente Foundation.

She is also from Armenia, Colombia but has called Spain home for the past 3 years, where she is engaged in expanding our mission and community presence.
In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, exploring the Spanish culture, and spending time with her family, fiancée and her dog, Rocco.

She is passionate about helping others find a sense of purpose, creating awareness about mental health and contributing innovative ideas to our organization. We are so grateful for her as she was the very first person to believe in Vanessa and her vision and we recognize that our journey wouldn't be the same without her unwavering commitment and support.

In her philosophy, she also emphasizes the importance of viewing people through the lens of compassion and appreciating them for the positive contributions they make to their community, beyond mere titles, social status, or professional achievements.
